The Titans Curse by Rick Riordan+

This is another Percy Jackson book. Artemis the Goddess of the hunt has been kidnapped while hunting the trail of a monster that could destroy Olympus. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover and others are left to find Artemis and kill this monster. They need to do both before the winter solstice. They need to get Artemis back so soon because she is the glue that holds the counsel of gods together. I like the book because it makes you laugh and you are sad at some parts. But in the end there is always another mystery unfolding so you are in suspense in till you can read the next book.

Bottom line I recommend it. Like all the other Percy Jackson books there are fights and main characters do die.

The Legend of Luke by Brian Jacques+

lukeThe Legend of Luke, by Brian Jacques+

You go back to Martin the Warrior who goes on a quest to see where he grew up till age 6. He found a ship that was stuck on 2 rocks. And also found that some other creatures are living in it. Over the course of time they find out that the ship is only half the ship. The other half of the ship was sunk.  It is a daunting book that will stay with you forever.

Bottom line: I recommend it. It does have fights but in the end everything is OK and you are sad to lose the characters. I’d say it’s for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and so on. People of all ages will like this book.

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan+

This is another Percy Jackson book. Percy had has a very uneventful 7th grade year. But is being followed around by a 6ft-3 big baby called Tyson. So he has no friends that aren’t Tyson. His satyr friend named Grover is captured on island Polyphemus’ island that is in the Sea of Monsters. Also the magical borders of camp half-blood are failing. And the only way to save camp half-blood is to find the Golden Fleece which is on Polyphemus’ island. I like it because it is funny but a good adventure story.

Bottom line: I recommend it. It does have fights and deaths. I would say its for 4th, 5th, or older. if you are under age I recommend asking your mom or dad to review it before you do.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan+

This   is an ancient Greek story that is put in modern times. For example, Mt. Olympus is over the Empire State Building. Mount Tam is over the San Diego Pier. And the underworld entrance is also in San Diego Pier. Percy Jackson is the main character. He gets kicked out of every school every year. Percy is on a vacation with his mother when he is attacked by a monster. His friend Annabeth brings him to Camp Half-blood where he meets many mythic characters and demi-gods and they send him on a quest. I really loved the book because it is exciting and you really love the characters.

Bottom line: It does have fights and deaths. But it is a really good book and you will love it. So yeah, I recommend it. I think this book is for  4th or 5th graders. If you are under the ages I think would be good I would ask my mom to look at it before you do.
